Small, familiar and full of possibilities.

Sometimes it is precisely in small places that great things can grow. At Salabanda 73, we care for 23 children from their first birthday until they start school, in a family-like atmosphere where every child is seen, heard and taken seriously. Since opening in 2008, our first daycare centre has been a firm part of the neighbourhood. Its special small-scale, homely character, a stable team of eight experienced educational professionals and a structured yet flexible daily routine give children security and space to discover their world for themselves. A particular focus of our work is supporting children with hearing impairments. Augmentative and alternative communication using METACOM, together with sign-language skills within the team, enable every child to express themselves and be understood. Whether gardening in our raised beds, digging in the courtyard or heading out on an exploration to “Hübi” or “Peti” – our everyday life is full of shared experiences. Projects grow out of the children’s ideas, because participation is something we practise every day. A place where diversity is simply part of life and children are free to just be children.
